Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the AmanBeat application ("the App"), published by SOFDeveloper ("we").

1. What AmanBeat does

AmanBeat lets you alert the people you have chosen when you need help:

  • your trusted contacts, by SMS with your location, and by a call to your main contact;
  • your AmanBeat people (other AmanBeat users connected with you), by a notification in the App with your name, your message and, if you share it, your location.

An alert can be started from the App, a widget or a shortcut, the power button (Android), your voice (Voice SOS), Siri or the Action button (iPhone), or a paired Wear OS watch. If you turn them on, it can also record audio or video, and keep a copy of the recording online.

  • AmanBeat is not an emergency service. The App does not contact the police, an ambulance or the fire brigade. If you are in immediate danger, call your country's emergency number; the App shows it when it knows your country.
  • An alert can fail: no network, no credit, a permission turned off, an empty battery, a phone the system has put to sleep. On iPhone, an SMS only leaves once you tap Send, and a call needs your confirmation. The App always shows what was actually sent.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 16. If you have not reached the age of majority in your country, you need the agreement of a parent or guardian. An account with a valid email address is required, and you are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential.

3. Your trusted contacts and AmanBeat people

  • Only add people who have agreed to receive your alerts. Tell them what AmanBeat is and that they may be contacted in an emergency.
  • Test messages are clearly marked as tests. Do not use the App to send anything other than alerts or tests.
  • Only connect with people you know. Your name, your profile photo and, if you choose to show it, your company are visible to the people you are connected with or exchange a request with. You can remove or block anyone at any time.
  • Do not start false alerts, and do not use connections or alerts to harass, frighten or mislead anyone.

4. Voice SOS, watch, audio and video recording

  • Voice SOS may not recognise your phrase (noise, accent, distance, phone in a bag) and may react to similar words. Use the test in Settings and keep a cancellation delay if you can. On iPhone, it only listens while the App is open on screen; on Android, the system may stop it (restart, update, battery saving), and the App tells you so.
  • The watch starts an alert after a two-second press; an alert started from the watch can only be cancelled on the phone. The watch must be paired with the phone and within its reach.
  • Audio recording only starts with an alert you send (or a test you run) and lasts as long as you chose. The emergency call takes the microphone: recording pauses during the call, so what is said during the call is not recorded.
  • Video recording only films with an alert you send (or a test you run) while the App is on screen, for the duration you chose; otherwise audio is recorded instead if it is on. On iPhone, video stops when the App leaves the screen (for example for the emergency call). During a call, the video has no sound.
  • Online SOS recordings (only if you turn them on, after a separate consent): a copy of the recording is kept online for 7 days, then deleted. Only you and the AmanBeat people you chose for this can open it, and you can delete it sooner. Sending it needs a connection; without one, it is sent when the connection returns, within 7 days.
  • Recording other people may be restricted or require their consent where you are. You are responsible for checking that recording is lawful in your situation, and for any use or sharing of your recordings, including online. The same applies to filming people.

5. Costs and advertising

AmanBeat is free to use and paid for by advertising. Ads appear on some screens (Home, the history, an alert's details, the SOS countdown and result, and after you cancel an SOS). They never appear on the lock screen, in silent mode, while an SOS is being sent or on alerts you receive, and no safety feature depends on them. Where the law requires it, you are asked before ads are personalised (see the Privacy Policy).

SMS and calls leave from your phone, in your name, and are billed by your carrier under your plan — including to contacts abroad. Online features (AmanBeat people, online recordings, notifications) use your mobile data.

6. Availability

We work to keep AmanBeat reliable, but we cannot guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors, or that a message, a notification or a recording will be delivered, read or kept. Your phone, its settings, the mobile network, the internet and the services of Google and Apple are outside our control.

7. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damage resulting from an alert, a notification or a message that was not sent, not delivered, not read or not acted upon; from a phrase Voice SOS did not recognise or recognised by mistake; from a recording that was not made, is incomplete, was not sent online or was shared by you; or from an ad or the product it promotes, which are provided by third parties. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that cannot legally be limited.

8. Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete my account; your data is then erased (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend an account used to harass or mislead others, or to start false alerts.

9. Changes

If we change these terms substantially, the App asks you to accept the new version before you continue.
