Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data AmanBeat processes, why, and your rights. The controller is SOFDeveloper, contact: contact@amanbeat.com.
1. The data we process
- Account: email address, name, sign-in method (email or Google).
- Trusted contacts: name, phone number, relationship, and what each one should receive.
- SOS settings: countdown, message, enabled actions, silent mode, cancel PIN (stored only as a salted hash), and whether audio recording is on and for how long.
- Voice SOS (only if you turn it on): the microphone is analysed on your phone, in memory, to recognise your emergency phrase, then discarded at once. Nothing is recorded, transcribed or sent — not to us, not to anyone. Your phrases, sensitivity and recognition language stay on your phone.
- SOS audio recordings (only if you turn them on): when an alert is sent, the microphone records for the duration you chose (15 seconds to 2 minutes). The recording may include other people's voices and surroundings. It is stored on your phone only and is never sent to our servers.
- SOS video recordings (only if you turn them on): when an alert is sent while the App is on screen, the camera you chose (back or front) films for the same duration, with sound if the microphone is allowed. A video may show other people, their faces and places. Whether video is on, and which camera, are part of your SOS settings. Videos are stored on your phone only and are never sent to our servers.
- SOS Cloud Backup (only if you turn it on, after a separate consent): the exception to the two points above. A copy of the SOS audio or video recording is sent, once it is finished, to a private Google Cloud Storage space reserved for AmanBeat SOS recordings, with its size, its type and its server dates. The file name contains random identifiers only. Each consent and withdrawal is recorded with its date.
- Connected users (only if you use them): your name, your profile picture (from your Google account, or one you choose) and, only if you choose to show it, your company are visible to the AmanBeat users you are connected with or exchange a request with. If you allow it, your phone number is listed so that people who type it exactly can find you — it is never shown to them. We keep your connections, the requests and their status, and the company you declare. A push token per device lets AmanBeat notify that phone; no other user can read it.
- Alerts: when each alert was raised, how it was triggered, which actions ran and their result, and your location at that moment (with its accuracy and, when available, a street address).
- Acceptances: which version of these texts you accepted, and when.
- Diagnostics (can be switched off): anonymous usage statistics and crash reports. They never contain names, phone numbers or locations.
- Advertising: some screens show ads from Google AdMob: Home, the history and an alert's details, the SOS countdown (under Cancel), the result of an SOS, and a full-screen ad after you cancel an SOS. To show them, Google collects your phone's advertising ID, IP address and technical information about the device and the ad. Where the law requires it, you are asked first, and ads stay non-personalised until you agree. AmanBeat never gives advertisers your contacts, your position, your alerts or your recordings. On iPhone, personalised ads also need your permission to track (App Tracking Transparency).
2. Why, and on what basis
- To run the service you ask for — alerting your contacts, keeping your history — under our contract with you.
- To protect you in an emergency: your location is read only when you send an alert or a test message. AmanBeat never tracks you in the background.
- The microphone is used only for the features you turn on: listening for your emergency phrase (Voice SOS), and recording during an alert (SOS audio recording) or a test you start. It is never used to listen to you otherwise. The phone shows when the microphone is in use, and on Android a notification says so.
- The camera is used only for SOS video recording: during an alert you send with the App on screen, or a test you start. The phone shows when the camera is in use, and on Android a notification says so.
- To prove what you agreed to, and to prevent abuse (limits on test messages and alerts): our legitimate interest and legal obligations.
- Diagnostics: our legitimate interest in a reliable app; you can object at any time in Settings.
- Advertising: it pays for AmanBeat. Personalised ads only with your consent where the law requires it — you can change your choice at any time in Settings → Advertising. Ads never appear on the lock screen, in silent mode, while an SOS is being sent or on alerts you receive, and no safety feature depends on them.
3. Who receives it
- Your trusted contacts receive the alerts and test messages you send — your message and a link to your location.
- Google Firebase (authentication, database, crash reports, analytics) processes the data for us as a processor. The data is hosted by Google Cloud in the United States, under Google's contractual data-protection commitments; it may therefore be stored outside your country.
- Your mobile operator carries the SMS and calls.
- SOS audio recordings go to nobody automatically. If you share one (for example with WhatsApp, from the alert's details), you choose the recipient, and that app's own terms then apply; you are responsible for that sharing.
- SOS videos go to nobody automatically either: you alone choose whether to share one, and with whom.
- SOS Cloud Backup copies can be opened by you and only by the connected users you picked for them (among those who receive your SOS), while they remain connected to you and for 7 days at most. Receiving an SOS alone never gives access to its recordings. They are downloaded through AmanBeat after a check of these conditions — never through a public link. Google Firebase stores them as our processor.
- The connected users you choose receive your SOS — your name, your message and, if location sharing is on, your position — when that measure is on — on by default for accounts created from October 2026; each new connection is picked as a recipient on every account; you can turn it off and untick anyone in your SOS settings. They see it in AmanBeat; it never replaces the SMS or the call.
- If you start an alert with Siri or Shortcuts on iPhone, Apple processes that voice request under its own privacy policy.
- When you view an alert's map in your history, the map images are loaded from OpenStreetMap's servers, which then see the area displayed and your IP address. Nothing else is sent to them.
- Google AdMob shows the ads and receives the data described under Advertising, as an independent controller under Google's own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
- We never sell your data. Your contacts, positions, alerts and recordings are never used for advertising.
4. How long we keep it
- Account, contacts and settings: until you delete your account.
- Alerts: until you delete them in History, and at most 24 months after they were raised.
- Acceptances: for the life of your account, then 5 years, so that we can prove what was agreed.
- Crash reports: 90 days. Usage statistics: 2 months.
- SOS audio recordings: on your phone only, deleted automatically after 72 hours, and with the app if you uninstall it. Voice SOS keeps no audio at all.
- SOS videos: the same as audio recordings — on your phone only, deleted automatically after 72 hours.
- SOS Cloud Backup copies: deleted 7 days after they were made — access ends at that moment, and the file is erased from the servers within about one more day. You can delete a copy, or all of them, sooner; turning the backup off stops new copies and cancels those still waiting.
- Connections and requests: until one of you removes them, or an account is deleted. SOS shared with connected users: kept until you delete your account.
- When you delete your account, everything above is erased from our servers and from your phone.
- Advertising data: kept by Google under its own policy.
5. Your rights
You can access, correct, delete and export your data, object to its processing and restrict it. Most of this is directly in the App (Profile, Contacts, History, Settings → Delete my account). For anything else, write to contact@amanbeat.com. You can also complain to the data-protection authority of your country (in Kuwait: the Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority, CITRA).
6. Security
Data travels encrypted, every account can only reach its own data, and the cancel PIN is never stored in clear text. Audio recordings are kept in the App's private storage, excluded from device backups and inaccessible to other apps. Videos are kept the same way.
7. Children
AmanBeat is not intended for children under 16. Users who have not reached the age of majority in their country need the consent of a parent or guardian.
8. Changes
If we change this policy in substance, the App asks you to accept the new version before you continue.
